About the Woodstock Farm Sanctuary

Yogis with turkey at Woodstock Farm Sanctuary

The Woodstock Farm Sanctuary recently moved to a 150-acre property with lots more room for the animals to roam free. It is a perfect spot to hold yoga retreats! The land was previously an overnight camp, and includes lodges for overnight guests, a dining hall with professional kitchen, and lots of nature to explore and enjoy.

In early October the farm will be experiencing peak fall foliage. If the weather permits some of our workshops will be held outside or in the barn. Farm tours will be held at noon and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday & Sunday. Sanctuary founder Jenny Brown will lead a special farm tour at 12:15 pm on Sunday afternoon, just for Jiva Jammers!

Yoga Classes

Jivamukti Yoga teacher Julie Kirkpatrick
We have a very special lineup of yoga teachers and classes.

Five of our teachers are from the Jivamukti Yoga lineage. Jivamukti Yoga is a path to liberation through compassion towards all beings. Honoring the wisdom of classic yogic texts like the Yoga Sutras, Jivamukti Yoga teaches the importance of practicing non-violence and caring for the Earth and everyone on it. Classes include music, a rigorous yet accessible vinyasa practice, spiritual discourse and meditation.

Our Advanced Certified Jivamukti Yoga teachers are John Smirtc, Julie Kirkpatrick, Tamar Samir & Nora Heilmann. Our fifth Jivamukti teacher, Pashupa Goodwin, is 300-hour certified, and is also the event organizer and a longtime supporter of and photographer for Woodstock Farm Sanctuary.

Jamie Tancredie & Kendra Renzoni live in Western Massachusetts and are both 500-hour RYT certified.  They have been co-teaching hands-on assisted yoga classes together for over five years. They each have training in the art of deeply restorative and supportive modalities of healing touch such as Thai yoga massage and personalized and assisted private yoga therapeutics. They work with their hands, elbows, feet, knees, heads, arms, legs and hearts to facilitate students into the ability to spread consciousness into every inch of their bodies.
